March 22, 2011All Right !!!!!!!!! 2005 Ultra Classic
3 Water-proof bags
upper faring - warmer upper body and hands
lower farings - drier and warmer feet
Lights - Many of them for cages to notice
Shock System - Holds up 300 pound people - soft tails suck
For people that don`t RIDE - all this stuff doesn`t matter.
March 22, 20112010 Roadglide Custom (vivid black) color choice was very limited only an ugly red ,flat black denim, vivid black,I picked vivid black. Would not have been my choice if more colors were available that year. I got the roadglide but wanted a streetglide, but I decided on the roadglide because I had heard from quite a few people that it was the best handling Harley on the road, I found this to be true from my experience riding different bikes. I like the roadglide because there are not as many roadglides as streetglides and I did not want something everyone else had. At the time I traded for it the time and price were right.
March 22, 2011I had been looking into a larger bike for a while now. When I went to Daytona Bike Week 2011 I kept seeing the Street Glides everywhere. After a dozen or so passed me I think I was"Bitten" by the Street Glide Bug!! J.T.

Got my last one for many of the reasons McG stated plus the color was almost (dead on) the same shade of red as my `39 Chevy streetrod.

March 22, 2011It chose me!
March 22, 2011Was going to buy a dyna convertible but then I saw the fatboy and changed my mind. Fat low and nasty.....just like me.

EOD....My first was a 24" Schwinn, but my favorite was my second which was a 26" Schwinn Phantom. It had a horn, tail lite, headlite, chrome fenders and the (otional) $7 extra.....leather saddle. Plus it had a fork lock, key was always in it except when you locked it. Cool bike.
May 28, 2011I didn`t think of going that far back, Mo! I had a Schwinn with the banana seat, but really wanted the Stingray? (I think) with the shifter. Oh well. Never had anything cool like your Phantom. LOL
I always liked the bobtail fender on the Softail Standard/Springer/Custom and also liked the hardtail look too. So that`s how I came to get a Softail.
I liked the Sportster but was too big to feel comfortable. Circus bear on a bicycle comes to mind. My Wife`s Sporty Low will leave my Softy at the light but I catch her pretty quick. Her E-Glide will leave my Ultra at the light too but with her 96ci 6 speed she leaves me behind to boot!LOL
