April 13, 2012They (motorcycle and automotive industries) recommend replacing your brake fluid every few years. I figured seven years was as good as any.

April 13, 2012You are right about that. Any rig needs to be changed every 2-3 years but I`ve never heard of anyone doing it!: LOL
April 15, 2012I would guess the reason for people not completely changing out the fluid would be most people do not know how, the 2nd and most important reason is that they are afraid they will get air in their lines and then not have any brakes. and the third reason is they may get their hands dirty while trying to change the brake fluid. Just my opinion you Know !!!!!!
April 15, 2012Obviously the most important step is to properly bleed the system. Otherwise leave the schitt in the lines cause it works better than air. Just MY opinion don`t ya know!

quote:True...all the vehicles that I have owned throughout the years and I have never changed brake fliud just for the sake of it.
... but I`ve never heard of anyone doing it!
April 17, 2012Leaving mine stock.... LOL
April 18, 2012I am sort of in the vane or is that vein, IF IT AIN`T BROKE ,DON`T FIX IT.
I know preventative maintenance is supposed to prolong mechanical life, but sometime it is just better to let it run until it fails. But I do not know if that would hold true with a brake system, if that fails it could kill you. But I am like Ultra, I have owned alot of vehicles and have never changed brake fluid just to be changing the fluid out.
April 19, 2012I`m with Tippy, I`m leaving mineas it came from the dealer!:LOL

August 13, 2014Welcome CrankyPat, I do not believe I have seen you around before.
I got 103 cylinders and 10/1 compression pistons already seated with 900 miles on the rings. And I have a set of t-man 525 cams to put in there whenever I get a yen for more power , right now for the riding That I do, the stock 96, with a heavy breather and aftermarket muffler and I tried to take out the cat converter, got most of it. Anyway I do not know when all that will happen have 47,000 on a 2010 roadglide and it still runs good.
August 13, 2014Welcome again CrankyPat and Deuce2000! Thanks for chiming in!
I plan on changing the wax on my tires. I find that a good paste wax fills most of the weather checking so the tires last longer... LOL
For you new or returning folks, I`m a bit of a smart ass! Duh!!Hahahaha
