July 8, 2004I'm looking at making some mods to my 01 FLHRCI. Most likely this year will be an AN big sucker or SE breather kit. I'm looking at a true dual system, either Bassani or Dinehart. Considering a Power commander as I would like to do a big bore next year. I keep seeing info on a stage 1 ECM or stage 2 ECM. Too many stages for my simple mind. Can anyone explain the difference (in simple terms)? Thanks !!!

July 8, 2004Stage I ECM (actually a 're-flash' or 're-map' of your existing ECM) is for freer breathing exhaust AND air intake.
Stage II is for mods beyond that.
NB- you pro=bably don't need any re-flash if you have the PC.
Install the PC *instead of* the Stage I re-flash as the only real difference a Stage I would provide is to be raise the Rev limit to 6,200.
Paul (ready to install the TFI box *after* my stage I re-map)
'02 FLHPI, wild pig slip-ons, SE air intake.
July 9, 2004Thanks for the clarification!!! I'm making myself nuts as there are too many options for pipes, air intakes and DFOs, TFIs, VFIs and PCs.
July 9, 2004Chaz, np. Revtech DFO and Techlusion TFI are INDENTICAL.
buy the cheaper of the two. also, i bought the HD harness since i want my connections to be as weatherproof as possible.
Neither do as much as the SE race tuner or PC III, but how sosphisticated (sp?) a unit you want depends on how far you're planning on taking your engine mods....
