August 20, 2011Dave,
I do all of my own work on my bikes, I have for a long time. This 2010 has only been in to the Harley shop 1 time since I bought it 23 months ago for warranty repair on a piece for the front of the tank and to tighten the neck bearings. I change my own oils, and my own tires, I bought a manual tire changer several years ago. Putting on handlebars is no big deal, I will just have to find some bars ofr risers that are comapatible with the nacelle over the handlebars. I really think risers will be an answer to my problem, by raising the bats up a bit and back toward me.
But if I run into a snag, I will keep you in mind.
Thanks for the offfer though.
August 20, 2011VT. Give tattoo`s dealer a call. Ask for Brandon in parts tell him what
your looking to do. He`s good with that stuff he`ll do some research for u
and tell what will work and what won`t for risers. He helped me alot
when I went with the slammed riser cover for my roadking. Local dealer
told me it wouldn`t work on my bike. I thought it would. Talked to Brandon
he thought like I did. And found the parts I needed. No new cables needed
in my case. Just the risers and cover. I don`t deal with the "locals" anymore.
August 21, 2011No problem, VT. I could let you borrow my wire stretcher to make the job go easier.LMAO
August 21, 2011Besides VT - For you, EOD is right on the way to Trip`s place.

I wanted to come by in 2009 when I was going to be in Montana and in fact I rode through quite a bit of Montana. I wanted to meet you Dave, posted that fact here several times. You never responded to any of my post, so I did not persue it, it could be that you were not on the zone at all during that time, but I was a little dissapointed that you never responded and we never got to meet.
August 22, 2011McG,
Montana and Dave`s is not where near on my way to Trip`s , he is way north of where I go to get to Trip`s ,I got out I-40 the southern route and Dave is way up past the Northern route.
You may have meant that after I left Sturgis he would be on the way, but he is not, he is still west and north of the way I would go to Trip`s.
August 22, 2011You go fast and in a straight line - I just wander all over the place and only run 80 to 85 in the Vette. On my trip eveerybody was on my way to somewhere. You took me too serious.
August 22, 2011VT, in 2009 I was still going through my medical issues and medical military retirement. Kinda distracted at the time to say the least and I don`t remember if I spent any time on here or not. So I`m sorry if I missed out on your visit. I always look forward to meet Zoners. We tenatively plan on Sturgis for next year so maybe we can meet up then.
Anyone coming to Montana and wanting to visit can shoot me a PM. I`ll ask the OL if I can come out and play!LOL

EOD.....I`m gonna take that last sentence of your comments as (tongue in cheek) gesting. I know too many guys on here including myself, where that "asking the OL" thing is not and/or has not been part of our everyday existence and I would include you in that thought.
On the other hand, I have on occassion, been blown away by some friends I know that.............truly hafta "check in" and ask the OL if they can buy a bike or a boat or go out with the boys for a few suds......etc.
Any guy in that mode, has had his grapes smashed and maybe doesnt even know it.
August 23, 2011Mostly tongue-in-cheeck, Mo. Every once in a while it behoves me to ask rather than tell. Or more accuratly, not what you say, but how you say it. So no truely "Have to check" but sometimes winning the battle is not worth it in the end if you want peace and quiet when you get back.
