The new M8 engine has had some issues with transferring oil from the engine to the primary. Keep an eye on your oil levels. Harley won`t check how much oil comes out when they change your oil, they just drain and fill.

5 months agoYou know, I think my old 88, Ultra classic 70hp, 2005, and also the the 2006 model, were the end of the old reliable engines. I sure did struggle going up and over those mountains between the Santa Cruz and Rockies. Once I got to the gas station and filled up with 81 octane it got much easier. I could go 55 instead of 30mph. Drove my buddy Larry nuts as his old 88 was a really fast one. He could whip any 96 there was. He sure lucked out.He took it to 96 and had it tricked out in SanJose and now it really runs. He bought that thing in the summer of 2000 for our cross country trip and still loves it. Carburated and all.
5 months agoI used to have my bike drain pan that fit under there just nice. Became well aware of how much oil should be in it. I also checked my oil level every time before I left my house or anywhere. That was how I lost my $135.00 dipstick in Oregon on a trip. Checked it, kept an eye on the lady filling my bike, added a little oil, paid her and took off. 150 miles later in 100deg. plus heat I stopped again for gas and there was oil down the side of my bike and no oil filler stick. I was not going back for that sucker in that heat. Covered it with a sandwich bag and elastic band and waited till I got to the Snake River and an H-D shop. Had to get a horn bracket made and drink beer too. All was well.
5 months agoI don`t know. My 2013 is a 103 and I don`t have any issues with it. They had some junk compensators and primary tensioners but it`s been trouble free for me. I thought my 07 SG with the 6 speed and 96ci was pretty fast but it can`t hold a candle to the 103.
5 months agoMy 05` Ultra would only 105mph. Tried at the Darlington Raceway one time. Looking at the wall when coming out of turn 2 about made me wet my drawers the first time. I ride slow and that bike never failed me. That was the one I had when I met you in Seattle Dave. Just sold it 2 years ago. It still looked good and the first guy to look at bought it.
5 months agoIt was a nice bike. I`ve buried my speedo at 120. So that`s about as fast as I`ve had her. We (Our CVMA chapter in Montana) were doing a poker run and were running behind and did 25 interstate miles a bit fast. One thing lead to another and there we were. My 05 got bagger wobble about 95 or so. This 13 did it in a few corners but at that fast I guess it will happen.
5 months agoI have ran my 2016 of the speedo a number of times. I had it up to 115 in 5th gear going to Sturgis in 2016, had only had it a few days, but already had over 1500 miles on it, I figured I might as well break in in right or blow the SOB up. I hit 115 a couple of times last week going and coming from Myrtle on I-95, was pissed at the traffic speeding up and slowing down and holding me up, so when I cleared the traffic I let her EAT!!!!!!!!!! Mine is a 103 high output engine, I think those come a little souped up from the factory bigger cams and I do not know what else.
5 months agoI can tell you that is has a pretty good get up and go in 6th gear when you want to pull out and pass, seldom have to downshift to pass anyone, just roll on the throttle.....
5 months agoDo not know if I told you guys, but that tourpack broke, the lid broke off at the top where the hinges attached to the bottom part of the tour pack. I sent them an email 4 days ago and have not heard anything yet, so I just sent another note through ebay to see if they reply this time.
5 months agoWow! That sucks, VT! I`ve heard of a few brands that the bags and Tour Pak are too thin. I guess this might be one of them. Very aggravating after al the time, trouble an money you have in it.
5 months agoVT - Now we can find out how good you are with fiberglass. I recommend you use the "WEST SYSTEM". It is a fiber glass boat thing. You pay but it is the best. You can get all the supplies you need at your local decent sized boating supply store.
