1 week agoI do think it takes quite a few miles to condition your ass. I bought a rebuilt Harley seat with the gel installed. Comfortable from start to finish. And it looks great on my Shark as well, I think.

1 week agoVery nice Dave The color combo complements the paint scheme very well. An I am glad that it is comfortable. I am of the mind that it does not matter what kind of seat or pad that you are sitting on. That you have to get your ass in condition for the miles , by riding the miles, it just toughens you up and numbs you out so you don`t feel the pain so bad and do not squirm nearly as much. If I get really hot and sweaty and my shorts start sticking to me, that can really get uncomfortable too. I have even tried that powder to help alleviate that, but like I said for me the sheepskin and Air Hawk pretty much do the job.
1 week agoI`ve heard good things about the Air Hawk. I used to use Monkey Butt powder. Gold Bond works as well.

Don`t take this wrong, but being comfortable over a long distance can be made easier if you are the owner of a (nice and/or cute butt).
Now, the way you know that is if you`ve over the years been complimented by some females as to your "cute azz"
I happen to have one..............
The alternative that many guys have is known by the ladies as a "Teddy Bear Butt".........you can typically recognize it by a big gut on the front side and almost no butt on the back side.
A person with the malady of a (Teddy Bear Butt) is much more likely to need the Monkey Butt Powder and/or extra padding much sooner that those of us with a nice azz.
1 week agoI`m hoping that no one requests pictures of MoScooters butt.
1 week agoFunny, Mo! Back in the day when I was wearing size 32 Wrangler jeans I got lots of compliments. I guess I`m rockin the Teddy Bear ass now! LOL
1 week agoWell FreeWilly, I guess I best not ask now! Hahaha
I leave Saturday so I guess I`ll have to catch y`all next time.
1 week agoOn my 56,000 Fatboy miles and 28,000 Ultra miles I tried to keep my riding to about 300 miles a day. That`s seeing the sights, having lunch at a Mom and Pop, gas stops by 150 miles and then a last Mom and Pop bar stop about 3:30 to have a beer and find out about the next cheap motel. This always seemed to work out just fine and many is the time Larry and I found a cheap place with a pool and had a six pack with a swim. None of this ever much bothered my azz on my Corbin seats as we were never in a hurry to stop. My rides always took more than a month and the sights were beautiful. Short rides of 450 miles or less were never any problem. I just didn`t like stock seats and I did change out the handle bars for back and shoulder comfort. Riding from California or 100 miles out to lunch twice a week - loved it all. Legs don`t work so good now and I have no desire for a trike. I`m back to a pick-up (F150). Life is good.
1 week agoBTW - Dave - That seat looks really good.
1 week agoI remember your map, McG. Tons of riding on it. Sucks that you can`t ride, and I think I might give up before I went to a trike as well.
Thanks for the seat comment. I had to have it. It matches so well and with the blue gel inserts well worth the $350 (I talked him down $100) I paid.
ThursdayEOD are you having a bike night tonight? I`ll be at the Hideout around 4 today It would be my pleasure to buy you a beer.
If things work out for us we will be west of the mountains when you come back.
ThursdayMoscooter, I put that nice butt stuff into the too much information category....LOL! don`t believe you posted that!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, whether you have a fat butt, a skinny butt, or a just in between or just right butt. If you ride enough your ass will start hurting sometime. That is one things the highway pegs help with so you can kick your feet out and reposition your ass and weight a little. I have my pegs mounted outboard on my highway bars. Don`t use them much prefer myself to have my feet down on the floorboards, but I got them there just in case.
