January 7, 2005I finally have time from to go this year but I have heard about it not being that great. I have noticed how much the rooms have gone up and the so called package deals is it really worth it. Can anyone out there make any recomendations about lodgeing or any thing else.
January 7, 2005Rooms are always expensive, and they have always been expensive. You typically cannot get rooms directly with the hotels. they force you to go through Dal-Con Promotions. Dal-Con won't sell less than a 3 night package (typically).
I go every year. Usually there are 4 - 6 of us, and we all share 1 room. Makes the costs MUCH easier to take.
Last year, as we were packing up the last day, we saw a notice in the room, that the hotel (Colorado Belle) had a limited number of rooms available for the next year. The rooms were at discounted price, and were only available if you reserved them before you checked out. This year we will be staying at a semi-reasonable rate of $100 a nite.
We like the Colorado Belle or the Ramada Showboat. Both have heated pools and hot tubs. Both the Flamingo and the Edgewater were nice places, but we prefer the others. This will be our third consecutive year at the Colorado Belle.
January 8, 2005We always stay at the Pioneer. it is right in the middle of everything, always has a good vendor village but best of all is a motel, that's right, no parking 2 miles from the hotel in a "designated motorcycle area" and walking acress the parking lot, through a casino, wait for an elevator for a ride to your room. last year we were on the first floor and parked 5 feet from our front door every day.
