August 3, 2005IF ANYONE CAN HELP! I USED BLUE BUSTER ON MY BASSANI PIPES AND IT REMOVED THE BLUE BUT ALSO TURNED THE CHROME THAT WAS NOT BLUE TO BEGIN WITH A GOLDISH TINT. I CALLED THE COMPANY THAT MAKES BLUE BUSTER AN THEY ARE STUMPED. ANYONE EVER HAVE HAD THIS EXPERIENCE AND/OR ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO GET THE SILVER CHROME COLOR BACK. I ONLY DID THE ONE PIPE SO YOU CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 2 PIPES.
August 4, 2005My experience with Blue Buster is that it is quite abrasive!
However, that gold tint may be a hot running set of pipes and not the product itself. Why diod the pipes blue to start with....think from that angle and you may find that you have a rich condition....dunno?
August 4, 2005I would have to agree with nmfxstc. I would check to see if you are running hot in the pipes. One way to check is pull your plugs. If you are running too lean then the pipes will be too hot causing discoloration. The other thing that comes to mind is the abrasiveness of the cleaner. Maybe you rubbed off some of the chrome plating and are seeing the coloring of the metal underneath.
I would check your air-fuel mixture first to be sure you're not too lean, then go from there.
August 4, 2005I ran the bassani slip ons
the right side started to yellow due to heat from the crossover
I went to duals, swapped the slipons,,,,with lower heat, the yellow has stopped and the right side looks new.
I have not found anything that gets rid of the yellow after it started...
stay away from the abrasive pollishes
