May 29, 2006Got the bike back Saturday afternoon after having the 95"/cams kit installed. Took them 5 days instead of the promised two days, which had me a bit peeved. Had them put in an automatic primary chain tensioner as well, to keep from paying for another gasket later.
It rolls on really strong now, especially in 2nd and 3rd gears. Noticeable power increase. Shifting is just a bit smoother, but the clutch engagement feels slightly different, probably due to the stiffer clutch spring that came with the kit. It is difficult to go through the 500-mile break-in - I just wanna go WFO to see what it will do now!
I got a great deal on some take-off HD Touring mufflers, which sound almost identical to the original stock, but flow much better. Had to order two rings for mounting the end caps, but they do not look bad without the caps. The remap is perfect, I would say - no sputters, popping, or anything. The dealer is getting a dyno in a month or so, which new has me thinking about either a Power Commander, or a Race Tuner. Still reading up on both of those.
Ordered a new front wheel Saturday, to go with the black fork sliders and black-centered front discs. Those should be installed later this month. Will try to get a couple new pics in my Gallery when it is done.
