November 7, 2009Thanks again for all the support. My last post was somewhat beer induced and I think I was whining a little. Got the new bolt tight tight tight. Now I`m gonna hop on and go in search of a cold one.
November 7, 2009Tattoo,
I have allready killed 4 deer this week, am getting tired of fooling with them allready, muzzleloader season has only been in for 6 days, I still got 1 more week of muzzleloader and then 2 weeks of regular rifle season after that. I shot a doe and an 8 point buck today, i was cutting up meat until 4pm this evening from noon.
November 7, 2009Damn VT! If you run outta room for all that meat, I`ll take some off your hands!
November 7, 2009I will be going to the cannery bright and early Monday morning, no freezer needed for this meat, it will all be in quart tin cans. I have sore muscles from all the pulling on the deer hides while skinning.
I must be using different muscles than I did on all those long rides I have been taking on the Motorcycle.

VT.....Yrs ago, one of my riding buddies was an avid bow hunter. When they got a deer, they hung it up in the garage for a few days to "age" it. Doesn`t sound like you do any aging.........ergo straight into the can
November 8, 2009I usually leave it soaking in salt water and ice for a few days if that counts for aging. It solrt of breaks the meat down and makes it tender and it pulls the blood out of the meat.
November 9, 2009Hey Free Willy!
Excuse me for coming in late. When you have issues like that give me a ring first. I have a few hours wrenching on bikes and 30+ years on cars/snowcats/dirtbikes, etc. Nothing against Brian and his crew at the HD shop, but more than likely we can figure out whats wrong and then you can go there and spend your money on parts. And if its anything worse than a loose or missing dipstick I can haul you upthere on my trailer! LOL
November 9, 2009BTW, I have my Ultra shifter set up pretty much like Mo`s. I also use red loc-tite on the splines if I know I`ll never change the shift levers.
November 9, 2009EOD Thanks I appreciate that. I did use blue loctite but I can sure change to red. Instead of using my allen key with pipe cheater I got a hexhead bit for my 3/8 drive, it`s tight. Riding again (55 in Nov.) so we`ll see how it goes.
November 10, 2009They shouldn`t need to be overly tight, Willy. Depending on the material of the lever (i.e aluminum, etc.) you might get gauling or corrosion just from the dissimilar hardware. If you use the fold out hex key set that should get it as tight as it ever needs to be.
I serious about the offer. That goes to anyone else crazy enough to head up our way! LOL
