Don't get it on yer shiny paint.
October 2, 2009I have always used brake parts cleaner from the autoparts store to remove any oil residue left over from changing the filter. It seems to clean off the gunk. I always rinse it down right after spraying it on. So far, no corrosion on any metal and the powdercoat stays on the engine looking good as new.
October 3, 2009I just use DAWN dishsoap and warm water with a fingnail brush on my blacked out engine. Takes off the grease and oil real nice. Even shines in the sun.
For a real freshen up I then us PIG SPIT areosal spray.
I might look into this citris based arosal spray that we have been using at work. Can't think of the name just now but I think we go a case from Graingers. Smell's like oranges.
