October 24, 2009Anybody have this and service the bike yourself without voiding the warranty?
October 24, 2009I have never heard of it.
October 24, 2009Don`t know what this is but you can service your bike yourself without voiding your warranty. At least I did with my 2000 Fatboy. I also took my 2005 Ultra Classic to my local Indy shop - did not void my warranty.
October 24, 2009It`s an extended warranty, I got when I bought the bike. From the wording in the contract they are pretty strict. They want a signed record of required service from a certified shop. I do all the service on all my vehicles. I`m sick of paying the dealership for the bike.
October 25, 2009I`m real sorry you bought the extended warranty. Unless you`re gonna ride it more than 100,000 miles in the next five years - it`s useless. These bikes just keep on going. H-D takes care of most of their mistakes via re-call. What few might be left are usually not very expensive to fix. Just my
November 20, 2009Joshk, If the service is free, you have to take it back to the dealer, if you have to pay you do not have to and they have to honer the warranty. just keep good records of oil changes. There is a law covering this "the magnison-moss act" I can`t remember the year.
May 3, 2010Never did the services myself but I did have a crankshaft go bad on my 05 Road King Custom. Good thing I had the extended warranty. The repair was a little over 2500.00. I paid 50.00. Traded the bike in a few weeks after I got the bike back and got a refund on the extended warranty. Great deal at least for me.
