December 27, 2009Decided to check the cam tensioners on my 05 Road King, so I removed the exhaust and the transmission exhaust bracket is broken again. This will be the third new bracket in 55,000 miles. On the bright side the tensioners look like new.

Maybe you could fashion some rubber grommets/washers when re-installing the bracket so as to give it some ability to vibrate a little and avoid another break
December 27, 2009I had a problem with a horn brackett breaking 2 times. I then made a new brackett from a much thicker piece of aluminum. Have not had a problem since.
December 27, 2009I did not know those goldwings vibrated enough to break a bracket???????
Freedom is not just another word, it is riding my harley down the road with the wind in my face.
December 30, 2009Give me a buzz, Willy. If I cant fix it I`ll build you one that works. Of course you could just go buy another new one..... LOL

January 1, 2010Had another one EOD. When the last one broke I had to have it overnited. Since I was paying big freight had them throw another in the box. Actually I still have the original, I was afraid overnite wouldn`t be overnite so had Specialty Iron works weld it. Last time it took out the Y pipe this time just the bracket. Pretty happy about the shape of the tensioners, a new rear tire and I`m ready for when this weather breaks.
