May 30, 2010No schit, WOW! Bizzare.
May 30, 2010It looks to me like they should call that thing the know it all.
I think kids today allready do not think right. And now someone is trying to invent a program that will do their thinking for them. How phucking idiotic is that????????????????????
May 30, 2010It`s basically an advanced Google type search. the (up) side is you can find out easily just about anything ya wanna know. The (down) side as you mention, is kids won`t necessarily feel any need to learn and (retain) a lot of factual data as they know all they gotta do is push a few buttons and there it is.......
God forbid the ding dong making change for ya at McDonalds had to figure it out in their head.......versus what the cash register told them was the correct change
May 30, 2010In the "old" days...we had to count back change to the customer...no mistakes that way...you had to calculate in your head and counting it was check/balance...
May 30, 2010I remember learning that years ago. You didn`t even have to calculate anything. Just count from the purchase price up to whatever bill they gave you. Easy for us but just try to teach that to a kid today.
May 30, 2010Yep!!!...exactly!!...we got real good at it to!...i,ve asked a hundred times "count my change back"...they havnt a CLUE!!! unbelievable.
May 30, 2010It really gets ridiculously slow getting change from someone when the power goes out, they don`t have the register to be their brain and they cannot count worth a schitt. I have had that happen in the grocery store and in fast food places. They just absolutely cannot count and are at a loss without the computerized cash register to do their thinking.

This all reminds me of the story about the young gal crying in the parking lot cause she can`t get back into her locked car.
It seems the battery in her key fob was dead and wouldn`t activate the power locks to unlock the door, so she didn`t know what to do.
A guy comes along and takes the key fob (attached to the car key) out of her hand and actually uses the (key) to unlock the car door.
there ya go...........
May 31, 2010Ok this is the truth. It happened to me, Henry J, not a friend or a friend of a friend.
I`m in a mall food court and a highschools age girl walks over and asks me what time it is. I`m in the middle of conversation so I just raise my hand up so she can see my watch. A standard timex analog with hands and numbers.
She says "what time does it say? I don`t know how to read that kind of watch".
