I`m still toying with the idea of (gearing down) to have better low end with two up. As we have discussed before, without the compensator I`m not wanting to go ahead with the engine sprocket swap from Evo Industries.
Many CVO owners have gone with the 30T trans sprocket from Andrew or Baker Trans and using a one tooth smaller drive belt. Most of them have expressed being very happy with the improvement in low end power. Most have also indicated (not) losing their 6th gear lite and/or their ability to use "cruise control" either...........only problem being the speedo reads around 10% too fast.
As long as I`m not gonna lose the "cruise", I don`t care about the lite and I can live with the speedo error (but would like to resolve it) if there was a way.
One way to fix that is TTS as I understand that device can make corrections to the speedo readout. But that`s an expensive way to go just to correct the speedo........Dakota Digital also makes a device, but they say using that deal will then cause the "cruise" to no longer work cause the black box only accepts a 5% deviation and this would call for a 10% correction
I found out that the new 2011 Tri-glide HD uses a 30T trans. sprocket but the drive belt is 1 1/8" wide and thus I was not sure if it could be used on my Ultra (along with a one tooth shorter belt.......139T).
What do ya think
