May 15, 20112011 roadglide custom with 103 , forts the Vance and Hines black pro pipe HO with the new fuelpak ( and yes I know fuelpak stinks but it was his choice ) we installed the new parts and everything was great sounded good and you go to give the bike a quick jerk of the throttle to let her sing and it would cough stutter and spit and then once you got going it smoothed out nice until you loaded it up and cough spit stutter and smooth out but that miss sounded terrible for his new bike so I called Vance and Hines to check fuelpak settings and they said oh were sorry but that pipe is way to much for that bike , it`s for bikes with 120" and larger motors so with that said he decided to take their advise and get the dresser duals with monster ovals , so I removed the pro pipe and installed new exhaust and now the only difference is the problem is not quite as loud but the stutter and cough on takeoff is still there and 2500 dollars later he is getting very upset and I was noticing that v & h has this new throttlepak ( I`m definitely thinking scam but he is convinced that this will fix all problems ) and I wondered if anyone else has had this issue or maybe a direction to take cause I`m sure this thing is still very lean and not sure what to do about that huge lag on takeoff any help would be greatly appreciated

If the cough/stutter is through-out the rpm range, you surely have a real problem........However, if the stutter is just evident up to about 2000 rpms, and then (clears out) and runs strong beyone that rpm, I can identify with that.
Mine has been dynoed 2 or 3 times and runs great beyond 2500 rpms, but does some stutter/stagger below that range...........Kinda annoying, and I think someone that knows how to modify the maps could correct it......meantime, I` m living with that problem
May 15, 2011same problem , man it`s very annoying and I need to correct it
May 16, 2011Mos - You need to go to Castle Haynes and get it Dyno`ed and set up properly. Those guys are good and know what they are doing.
BAD03 - you need to go to a decent Dyno guy and get yours done also. And By-The-Way - I have never heard of pipes that are too wild for a bike.
