Here are some pics of a bike I painted for a guy last spring. He got a quote of $1,800 to have it done down town.
He was very specific on what the flames had to be. No artistic license for me...


I did have a little room to do the fender though.

I did it at the local VoTech body shop when I took their class. I did a couple more tanks but they were straight color and no custom work. We did a number of complete sprays as well as crash repair cars. I like the custom work better.

My dad had a shop when I was a teen and I grew up doing mechanical and body/paint. I`ve done it as a hobby for the last 30 years but I took the class to get the certificate saying I know what I`m doing.

Thanks Gents. It really is easier than it looks. After all, I can do it!LOL

Some of the longer raked (10"+) over front ends I`ve seen never needed a brace. Different strokes though. I can see that some of those old 3 foot over girders might benefit from one.
