9 weeks agoThat came out cool Dave. I still think you should figure out how to get your money together to set up a small hobby shop at your house. Something to have fun with in your old age. You have a variety of good interests, keep on spreading yourself out through them - as you get older you will enjoy them all.
9 weeks agoThanks, McG. I may continue painting stocks. I enjoy the challenge. Hard to say.
9 weeks agoDave,do you have a good buffing wheel on a bench grinder?
I have a Remington Nylon 66 Apache with a scratched up stock that could use a good buffing to remove the scratches.
After that I need to find a good chrome shop locally to strip the original chrome receiver cover and re chrome it.
9 weeks agoI actually do have a dedicated buffer here in Montana. I`d be happy to work the bugs out. We never did get time to go to lunch or something.
8 weeks agoDave, I hope you have a safe trip back up to Montana!!!!!!!!!!!
I got home from Myrtle Beach yesterday , am pretty tired today, I was real tired yesterday when I got home. Bike week was ok I met up with Mcginnis about 3 times, twice at Patio`s and then at an Italian placed called Rapones .
You keep that big rig between the ditches, and drive safe!!!!
8 weeks agoHey VT. I`m sure you were tired. God to hear you got to visit McG.
I got home late Friday night/Saturday morning. I was tired when I got here. Too many hours of driving. Had to drive in a blizzard the last 100 or so miles in the dark. Added a bit of stress to the trip. Good to be home though.
8 weeks agoDave, I thought you were not leaving until tomorrow, I thought you said Tuesday. I guess I got my Tuesdays mixed up and you left the Tuesday while I was at the beach instead of Tuesday coming up.
Anyway glad you got home, a blizzard huh in the middle of May. Wow!! I am glad that I don`t live in crazy azz weather like that. I do remember, being in Billings in the middle of August at the KOA campground in a tent and it being down in the 30`s and was glad that I had a good sleeping bag with me. That is when I rode over the Beartooth pass down into Yellowstone. There was snow all over those Mountains that had fallen the night before I went up. That is also the same trip where I stopped at a Walmart up there near Laurel and bought me a pair of long Johns and put them on under my leather for that trip up over the Beartooths. Lots of pretty scenery out there in your state, I should have tried to go to Glacier National park while I was in Montana, but I didn`t know I was that close at the time.
Glad you are home with your family, been talking and texting with Trip and he is trying to talk me into coming out again. He says he is lonesome there all by himself.
8 weeks agoYeah, hopefully we are about out of the snowy season. I`d like to ride without snow or rain for a bit. We can have snow any day of the year I guess so nothing should surprise me.
Yeah, Trip will be hitting you up for a visit. I stopped by every week or every other week but cant do it now.
8 weeks agoDave, he has been promising to come back east , but that has been for ten years now, so I guess that will never happen. He said he is going to sell his dresser now so he can by himself a car or a truck and that he needed to go back to work. I guess if he even had the intention of coming back east to visit that he wouldn`t be able to afford it, because according to what he tells me he is always living in near poverty.
Well glad you are home safe, and I hope the snow stays away for several months and that you have some great riding weather.
8 weeks agoVT, I don`t see him making the trip to see ya`ll. I don`t know that he will sell his bike. I know he wants to have a rig for the winter but not having a bike would kill him.
8 weeks agoYes I never figured he would ever come this way although he promised. He always seems financially strapped . What he did say about selling the bike and buying a car or truck was that he would just finish up the chopper and ride that, when he sold the dresser to buy a car or truck.
