4 months agoI was hoping that we could get the chopper done and painted before I left Arizona. No such luck though.

4 months agoWell I am sure he was hoping that you could help him especially with the painting. He had an old beater Oldsmobile or Pontiac car when I was out there he parked it out on the street, but he had it in case the weather was too bad to ride the bikes. That old car probably bit the dust long ago. I guess you are back settled in by now, it probably feels good to be home....
4 months agoHe had an old Crown Vic cop car but sold it.
It is good to be home and back to the familiar routine. I miss my class and the gun building of course.
4 months agoI know you have no plans to do so, but I think you need to get you a lathe and a milling machine and put some of those new skills to work. I know you were burning your GI bill up, but it would be a shame to let all that training go to waste. You may be able to pick up some of the necessary equipment for gunsmithing and for working on Harleys at a song on craigslist or some other for sale site.
Not trying to tell you what to do, but all that kind of stuff working on guns and bikes sounds like a passion to be catered to.....
4 months agoI hear you, VT. I`ve looked around for some equipment. It`s about money and space at this point. Money most of all.
4 months agoIt is too bad I`m old, don`t travel, and don`t ride anymore. I believe I could make it to Montana and then organize the EOD, benefit for a service man, POKER RUN. Good way to make a few bucks, have fun, and sure help somebody out. These tings happened all the time here and a bunch of people sure got helped out. We really got into helping ex service folks. You`ll figure it out one of these days Dave.
4 months agoThanks, McG. I`m looking for equipment but I doubt I`ll find anything that is in our price range. It would be great to see you come out here though.
4 months agoHey everyone, I just texted with Trip a little bit ago, he said he is doing ok just lonesome. He was cooking himself some meatloaf. Talked a little about all the bad weather they are having in the Midwest. Those people are catching hell from flooding and tornadoes. Dave I found a gunsmithing lathe for sale on the marketplace on facebook today they were asking $4800 for it , but I don`t know if that is a good price or not.. Well I hope all of ya`ll are doing good nad I hope you have a great memorial weekend. It is supposed to be 95 here Sunday, was 90 here today at noon, don`t know how high the temperature got.
4 months agoVT, There are so many variables that it`s hard to say whether or not it is a deal or not. Age/condition, horsepower and length are all factors that affect the price. Shipping would be pricey as well. Thanks for looking.
4 months agohere is the info that was posted with the lathe
