4 weeks agoRandy - you need to get you a little strange stuff - to break up the monotony.
4 weeks agoMcG, If I were to get any stuff, even from someone I have had stuff from before, then it would be STRANGE stuff because it has been so long since I had any stuff!!!!! lol!!
4 weeks agoOh , forgot to tell ya`ll I rode about 120 miles last Sunday, just putting around to several different places. It really felt good, since I have not ridden hardly at all for several months.
4 weeks agoGotta get out and ride. Its all that`s keeping me sane!LOL
4 weeks agoRandy - you did get me to laughing. I am sure some sweet young thing is gonna grab you on one of your outings. And my only hope is that she is not real off in the head.
4 weeks agoMcG, Diane called me a couple of days ago and I went over and talked to her, and that is all. She unblocked me off her phone, I really do love her , but I told her I couldn`t keep putting up with all these breakups.
Anyway, I do not know how that will end up, but right now I am immersed in trying to get a lot of work done here at my house so I can sell it.
Then my plan is to move back to my hometown, the houses up there are much cheaper and the cost of living. That is an economically depressed area, all the mfg. moved out of there. But it is home!!!! I have two brothers and a sister there, and a burial plot.
4 weeks agoI`m glad to ear you are getting rid of the house. Many people that retire to live and play golf her - eventually get old and go back to live near their family. The hard part is cleaning out your junk. After all these years there sure is plenty. If you haven`t seen it or touched it in the last five years - get rid of it. And start now. Have big yard sale, then donation day, then dumpster day. You will get over it when you are back with the family folks and having fun again.

McG is kinda correct here......it is very tough to unload all your sh** that you have accumulated over many many years.
Now.......McG kinda/sorta had (two) head starts at doing just that....getting rid of excess stuff. Years ago, he and his wife experienced a home fire that wiped out his entire house as I recall. So, at that time they lost a lot of things and possessions. Fast forward to he and his wife deciding to get a boat to cruise the intracoastal........this required selling their home and cars/trucks and many many possessions.
Between those two events, McG and his wife as I see it, got a huge "head start" over most of the rest of us in dealing with what to to unload and get "shed" of all your excess sh**.
I`ve run several Graigslist ads and local ads in the last few years and have managed to get rid of some stuff, but I still have waaaaaaaaaay to much stuff that my kids and/or grandkids will never use and I`m struggling with how to unload it and have it mostly gone before it becomes a "burden" to my kids to deal with after Linda and I are no longer able and/or gone.
4 weeks agoThat is pretty good advice Gerry, ol Bev used to tell me if you haven`t used something in 6 months that you don`t need it and you need to figure out how to get rid of it, either sell it , give it away via donation or otherwise or throw it away.
And moscooter, I hear you about coming a burden on someone else to clean up your mess, I have experienced it with My wifes grand parents and her mother. Her mom did flea market stuff and had schitt all over the house basement , two pack houses and one garage slam full. It was a mess, took a long time to clean up even after they had an estate sale. Some people bought things and picked through the lot they bought and left the rest lying there on the property strewed all over the place. There is still some stuff up there in one of those pack houses, but I have it all sorted and neatly stored. I spent a lot of time on that deal.
And I still have stuff in my shed out here that belonged to her grandparents and her mom and Dad. I got two nice tool boxes of quality tools snap on and Williams sockets, wrenches, rachets, and other assorted tools , they have been out there for several years and the two boys of mine will not take them. There is still a lot of stuff that belongs to my two sons here in the house and in my shed, and they both have houses and sheds and they don`t come and get their schitt.
So being a burden on them to clean up a little of my schitt and a lot of their schitt that they left here and won`t come and get somehow doesn`t seem to be too bad an idea to me.. Payback is hell sometime !!! LOL!
3 weeks agoRandy - somehow you just can`t get rid of tools and tool boxes. Sell what else you can and the donation to someplace is tax deductible. Don`t procrastinate any longer - it just gets more difficult. And whenever you go back home take a load of schitt each time. That is tough too. That truck will work just fine - load her up.
3 weeks agoI played golf today , I said screw it , I am taking a day off from all of this work. Anyway, I played pretty well I shot 39 on the front nine and 43 on the back nine for a total of 82. The senior league started back at Prince George GC last week, doing social distancing. We are riding one to a cart, and they are supposed to be sanitizing the carts after each round. I have worked pretty hard the past week painting and taping and masking and painting and I am getting pretty sick of it.
I also did some landscaping out front, I cut back my shrubs and clean all that and old leaves out of those plant beds, then I put down a bunch of mulch. Only after I dug the black plastic border up and raised it back up. It looked pretty good after I finished.
after hedge trim -
after raising bed border and putting in mulch -
