June 10, 2015FW and EOD - you guys need to get together and ride more often. Riding out 75 to 100 miles, eating lunch, then riding back makes for a great day once or twice a month. I used to do it once a week.

June 10, 2015Yeah I`m bad. I should make more of an effort. I don`t manage my time very well I guess.
August 27, 2015Another new ride. A BUELL Firebolt! Boy wonder wanted a sport bike so we compromised. I got what I wanted. He liked it instantly when I showed it to him. Good thing! He was getting what I wanted.
What`s not to like? 130 rear wheel, dyno proven horse. The torque was 90 something. I forgot since I was still stuck on the horse power numbers. The thing will pull the front tire up in almost any gear. Torque monster! LOL
August 28, 2015I hate to say it but around here only the black kids ride those things.
August 29, 2015We don`t have that a specific color of rider here. It`s mostly us and native americans. This is a Harley product McG. I figured it was obvious, but this is a Buell Firebolt. I wouldn`t post rice here. Y`all should know better than that! LOL
August 29, 2015Can y`all forgive me for giving the impression that I would buy, or let my son buy a rice bike? This is a Buell Firebolt. A rice "grinder"! LOL
I went back and fixed my post. No ricers here!
September 3, 2015I didn`t mean to imply you had bought anything other than a H-D. It`s just the shape or model look I was talking about. Here where we live in SC if you ain`t got a real H-D lookin` bike - you ain`t got nothin`. Even many of the older black folks here have gone to H-D`s (Baggers).
September 4, 2015No biggie. I didn`t think you meant any ill will McG. I know there is a rift between cruisers and crotch rockets. It is a hoot to ride though. other than the abnormal riding position.
September 4, 2015Nice looking bike EOD, is that a model when Harley owned Buell? I did the same thing when Linda decided to get a bike. We got a Vrod because I thought I would like to ride it also.
All those trick riders at the bike rally`s ride those Buells.I think Harley bought Buell out just to put him out of business.
September 5, 2015FW, Yes this was a Harley owned venture. They wholly owned Buell until October of 2009. This this is a rocket. Hard to keep the front tire on the ground and the speed down.
September 7, 2015The only kind of bikes I have ridden were my 77` Suzuki 750, 78 Suzuki 400 Motocross bike, and my Fatboy and Ultra H-D"s. I will say that Suzuki 400 that I had had ported perfectly was something else. Once my 14 year old figured out if he stayed in front he wouldn`t get run over by all the bearded old men he didn`t lose a race. Made through Novice to intermediate and was ready for Pro in less than two years. I moved back to NY and that ended that. He had also decided that smokin` pot was way more important than going to the races with me. That`s life and almost 40 years back.
September 9, 2015Nice looking bike Dave, you can ride whatever you want. Harley has gone from being a bad boys bike to being a status symbol. But now everybody and his brother has one, and just face it we all ain`t bad boys. That is still reserved for the 1%ers. The fact that all the successful people wanted to show their bad azz side has driven Harley Davidson prices of motorcycles and apparel up so high most working men can barely afford them nowdays. And the rallys are just showplaces for trendy looking motorcycle apparel anymore , you can hardly find any decent parts at the rallies anymore.
I started riding on a Bridgestone 175cc oil injected bike, I felt like I had the world by the tail when I rode that thing. So it does not have to have the HD emblem or name on it to make you feel good and for it to be a great bike. Just my
