5 months agoI will be coming to Myrtle Beach Thursday, I have tickets for a Josh Turner concert at the Alabama Theatre Friday night at 7pm. I will be staying in Georgetown, at the Rodeway Inn. I will stay three nights and come back home on Sunday July 22nd. Do not have any plans as to what else I am doing while I am there.
5 months agoVT,
I`ve never heard of this guy you`re planning to go see. I will google him to at least know who/what he does. Meantime, I`m assuming you must have a "deal" going with timeshare or other source to be staying 40 plus miles away in G`town from the Alabama theater.
5 months agoHe sings long Long Black Train, Your Man, and others. Has a real deep voice. Pop country artist. Staying in Georgtown because it was cheaper, less than half of the cheapest in Myrtle beach during peak vaction times. I had a special deal and it fell through, I had some harsh words with Westgate resorts over that deal. Will tell you about that later. Anyway will be leaving here Thursday morning and arriving there Thursday afternoon some time around 3 pm probably.
5 months agoAnd my concert is Friday evening at 7 pm. but like I said not real plans for the rest of the time, may do some beach in Huntington Beach state park
5 months agoOK,
We`re in an uproar here at our house due to kids/grandkids coming next week. I`m trying to swap garage stalls with my boat and SSR so I can change out the batteries in the boat for a fishing trip with grandkids.
At same time, as I told ya last visit, I`m gathering lots of "stuff" in the middle garage stall for an ultimate (garage sale) within a couple of weeks. So I have not allowed Linda to use that garage cause it is now full of stuff to sell. Also getting new sod for front yard later this week and then the back yard after that.
Had you selected a place to stay closer to here, you might have been able to hook up with me for Friday golf. We are scheduled to play across the road at Sand Piper Bay. Tee time around 8:30 or so and good chance I could get you on the roster.........but obviously not a convenient scenario if you have to get up here at that time and starting out in G`Town. If somehow, you can arrange staying up our way for Thursday......(and you`re not creating a "bitch" session with a girlfriend).............let me know.
5 months agoI will not be playing golf Friday Ash, she and I will probably go the the beach some and then back to motel and get ready to go out and eat and then head to the concert. May get out and sing some karaoke somewhere Saturday, but will try and find a place near where we are staying.
I played golf today, I shot 75, first time I had played at Prince George for about 2-1/2 weeks. I actually shot 35 on the back nine and 35 on the front nine, I had one double bogey kinda screwed up my round.
This was just a flying trip anyway, it was on and then it was off, and now it is on again since last week, so I did not try and make any plans. And that is why I waited so late to let any of you know that I was coming that way. And I will be riding bike, with clothes for two , so not much room there for any golf stuff.
5 months agoVT - a really good place to eat is the `Flying Fish` right to the left next to the Alabama Theater. You`re too far away for me. The Georgetown waterfront has a number of places to eat and is fun to walk.
5 months agoWhy is it that I am too far away, when I am riding 340 miles to come to your area?????? Anyway, this is just a flying trip, and am just playing by ear what I do . Remember though, I have been down your way many many times and have managed to meet up with you most of those times. I am not fussing , just making a point. I will just do whatever I want to do, and come on back home on Sunday, and not worry about making any plans to meet up with anyone.
5 months agoI only thought you might want to spend some time visiting Georgetown and maybe McClenville. I will gladly come south to catch up with you folks.
Heck, I just go out 90 to 701 to Georgetown and end up at the steel mill. Used to ride my bike there a lot for lunch.

Chatted with VT yesterday, he and his girlfriend got kinda soaked on the bike going to their concert. Seems it rained most all of the way. Luckily, he bought her a rain suit before they headed out.
Been there and done that riding in heavy rain. Not a lot of fun.
5 months agoLike it or not, most of us have ridden in the rain. Real riders do it even when it sucks! LOL
5 months agoRode the last 100 miles home today in the rain too. Very heavy traffic, and slow as schitt, bumper to bumper at time and some time completely stopped. But made it home fine, it is still raining here in Va. off and on this evening.. Pretty good trip, despite a little rain..
BTW- Mcginnis I called you on your house phone and on you cell phone and left voicemails on both phones while I was there, and never heard a word back????????
