1 week agoHow are y`all doing? At least is lost strength. Slowing down was good but stalling out isn`t.

1 week agoHey,you guys back East be safe!
1 week agoWell it is 7:30 pm Friday night, moscooter and McG I hope ya`lls heads are still above water. There has been and still is a schitt load of rain falling down there. And moscooter I saw on tv while ago where that storm had already flooded highway 17 just up the road from you at Shalotte, I know you only live a few miles from there. The thing is porbably sitting right over you and McG as I am typing this note. I really hope you guys come out of this unscathed. The flooding will last a few more days, so I hope you are set for food and water for a few days.
Anyways, again good luck to you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1 week agoAnd on another note I saw where 750,000 and rising were out of power in North Carolina, and so far 175,000 without power in South Carolina. They expect it to be many more before this storm moves on out in a couple of days.
1 week agoIt is now 11:00pm friday. It is moving west-north-west from me. Away from Myrtle Beach and on towards Rt.95. We have had no power or TV problem here (I have DISH tv which usually goes out in a good rain). It is moving at 3 to 5 MPH. Supposed to be here till sometime Sunday morning. All in all not so bad. It has cut into my PUB time both Wed. and Fri. I don`t drink at home ever so I kind of miss it. Gonna try to go out tomorrow night if there isn`t any curfew (7:00pm to 7:00am). Looters are a real big problem around here. I made sure my guns were handy. One guy in Myrtle Beach painted "If you loot here you will be shot". Will fill in the details Sunday.
1 week agoHe`s got it right Gerry,
"You Loot,We Shoot"
1 week agoHell yeah send them looter to meet their maker. glad you are ok Gerry, I guess Moscooter must be out of power , I see he has not posted here since about midday yesterday. I doubt if you get to go out to the PUB that soon , but good luck on that.
1 week agoI just saw on the weather channel where Interstate 95 is closed due to flooding near Lumberton North Carolina. They also said I-40 is closed due to flooding but I didn`t hear where the flooding that closed the road occurred. The flooding is only going to get worse because the flood waters will not reach a crest for a few more days, so the flood damage and closings may get much worse.
The hurricane now a tropical storm has only moved to 40 miles west of Myrtle Beach, it is currently only moving at 2 miles per hour and still has 45 mph winds, and is still very large and packing plenty of rain with it. It will still be affecting the Myrtle Beach area all day today because it is moving so slow.
1 week agoRaleigh got it pretty good also (about 200 miles north west of me). Right now it is 11:44PM Sat. So far the really bad place was New Bern N.C. About 150 miles North and a little west of me. Did get out for dinner, about 5:00PM, because of the curfew, and had a great Asian dinner at a place called E-Noodles. It was pack there as he was the only open place for quite a ways around here. All in all the storm was like a fizzled firecracker. A little wind, with a longevity of rain. It is still raining. BTW - one couple told us the looters are getting to the businesses along Ocean Drive. Better them than me. I`ll ride around, as much as I can, and see what has gone on, tomorrow.
1 week agoGlad y`all are good, McG! Looters need to be shot on sight. Not even joking.
1 week agoGood to hear the good news Gerry, I have not heard from Moscooter on here for two days so he must be out of power, or busy cleaning up.
1 week agoThe hurricane quit late this morning. Pretty nice afternoon. Rode around in my truck and could find no puddles or damage for miles around. I guess we`re all okay for that. Right now, 11:38PM, a pretty good thuderstorm and tornado watch just ended. Will hit some Pub tomorrow for a few wines. Tired of hanging this house. I hope VT was OK through this thing.
